“What a stupid tweet” – Rangers Assistant Manager rinsed after embarrassing himself with Ross County social media post

After Rangers’ game against Ross County got postponed due to bad weather, Ibrox Assistant Manager Stephan Van Der Hayden took to social media to voice his displeasure.

The Belgian coach has been in the game for forty years now as a player and coach and after the postponement due to safety concerns, he tweeted this.

Now, as we all know, games get postponed all the time during a football season and at this time of year in Scotland, it happens quite regularly.

I don’t know if was trying to be funny or taking a slight at our game, but no sooner had he posted this tweet, football fans on X were quick to let him know how daft he looks.

And you know how in social media the old saying of “There’s always a tweet”? On this occasion there’s always a fact to help embarrass him further.

As many people know, Van Der Heyden was the assistant manager of Indian Super League side, Kerala Blasters, and unless the Belgian has a severe case of short term memory loss, he knows that one of his games was postponed just last season as spotted by this eagle-eyed account:

So shall we wait for the inevitable “tweet deleted” message before someone embarrasses him further? Oops!
