This morning Celtic slapped down ‘transfer experts’ valuation of Celtic star

There was a story kicking about yesterday from an apparent ‘transfer expert’ yesterday suggesting that Torino are looking to sign Josip Juranovic.

A lot of media outlets picked up on the story.

It was from Gianluca di Marzio where he claimed that there were many Italian clubs looking at Juranovic but he also set a stupid transfer fee of €6m Euro’s for the World Cup semi-finalist.

Absolutely ridiculous from someone apparently ‘in the know’.

Well, this morning Celtic have slapped down the reported fee and told Torino that they must look for £17m for their in-demand right back.

Reports from the Glasgow Times suggested this morning that the club are playing hardball with a fee and well they should.

When you look at how much money is spent down south on AVERAGE players that haven’t even appeared at a World Cup, I think even £17m is too cheap.

At 27 years old, Juranovic is entering his prime, he is an experienced international and has proven that he can perform at the highest level and perform well for that matter.

If there are the number of clubs interested in Juranovic as the media make out, the club should be reaching for £20m as a MINIMUM for a player who has shown that he can step into anyone’s first team after his showing at the World Cup.
