“Someone at Celtic Park has leaked this” – Contract collapse stories blasted as prominent blogger calls for club action

I have said consistently on this blog that we should never, ever believe a story about our club until either we have all the facts, or unless we hear from Ange Postecoglou.

Tonight I wrote how Anthony Joseph slapped down the embarrassing Scottish media hyper stories that Giakoumakis and Juranovic were set to leave the club after contract talks broke down.

It was the biggest over reaction to contract negotiations I have ever seen in this country.

One thing that should concern the club is where the stories originated from. The player? Their agents? Or could it be somewhere closer to home?

You would like to think option three is completely off the cards wouldn’t you? Apparently not according to James Forrest of The Celtic Blog.

In his blog tonight, James wrote this, “This doesn’t resolve one issue; someone at Celtic Park has leaked this stuff to the press, and that person should be even more ashamed tonight.

I doubt very much that the person who told the media this stuff was the one who put the most negative possible spin on the stories; that would have been a decision by the media itself.

Could it be that there is someone conspiring against the club from within our own four walls?

You would like to think not. In fact, you would like to think that with Ange in charge and the club pulling together the way it has been these last 18 months, the if there was such an individual, the powers that be would have some idea who could be the suspect.

Let’s hope the person or persons responsible are flushed out sooner rather than later.
