“We need to improve our squad” – Postecoglou’s brilliant transfer hint as Celtic gaffer promises squad additions

After crashing out of the Europa League on Thursday night, Ange Postecoglou has sent the Celtic fans some positive news as the club gear up for a busy Christmas schedule.

With Thursday’s defeat highlighting the drastic need for strength in depth, the Celtic boss knows that this transfer window could be crucial in helping sway the destination of not only the title, but the £40m bounty that comes with it.

As reported by The Daily Record, Postecoglou said, “There is no doubt. We are still just four or five months into building a team and it was never going to happen in one transfer window.

“We know that we need more depth and players in certain areas that I think can help us to bridge the gap.

“You look at the Leverkusen side and they have quality all the way through.

“What we want to do is be able to compete at that level and we need to continue to look to improve our squad and add depth so that we can compete in lots of competitions.”

With news that Reo Hatate and Daizen Maeda are set join the Hoops this January, the transfer movement this window seems to be happening swiftly and efficiently compared to previous years when the club used to bring in last minute deals to appease the support.

This is going to be a very interesting winter!
