“That Screams Project Signing To Me” – Top Podcaster on Celtic’s Next Potential Move

I think everyone can agree that it’s great we are finally seeing some more transfer activity at Celtic.

As we approach the business end of the window, the capture of Josip Juranovic will be clubs EIGHTH signing of the summer if, as expected, the deal goes ahead this week.

With Celtic still requiring reinforcements in the centre back position, the talk of Liam Scales being the next addition becoming the next player to join Ange Postecoglou’s revolution is now the next hot topic.

Speaking on the A Celtic State of Mind podcast, host Paul John Dykes cast the rule over this potential signing and says even if this deal is concluded, further reinforcements are still needed as he believes Scales is not ready for the Hoops first team, “Liam Scales is an interesting one.

He plays centre half. He plays for Shamrock Rovers. He’s 23 years of age. He is the Republic of Ireland under 21 internationalist.

For me this has Dermot Desmond’s dibs all over it. He has a 25% share in Shamrock Rovers.

He obviously knows the player. Their manager has revealed that it looks as if that deal will be done.

Even if it is done we need another half. That screams project signing to me.

And not many can argue with that point. At 23 years of age, Scales is hardly a youngster but he is most definitely not the finished article.

Although he has experience of winning the Irish League, the step up to joining a club like Celtic will be huge and time will tell if he is ready for that jump.

Whether he is a Desmond signing or not (and in all likelihood, he is) it does look like the move will be going ahead this week after Rovers’ Europa League tie on Thursday.
