“That is a staggering stat” – Ewan Cameron on Postecoglou v Giovanni record

We all know just how good Ange Postecoglou has been at Celtic since his arrival back in June of last year.

Even when faced with a rebuild like no other Celtic manager has ever had that I can remember, the Celtic boss galvanised not only the first team, but the whole club.

A fractured support that was expecting no silverware for a second season was quickly healed as Ange wrapped up the title and league cup with a brand of football that was born for the club.

But it was this stat that had Ewan Cameron salivating about the Celtic boss.

Speaking on The Big Scottish Football Podcast, Cameron said, “There’s a really interesting stat that was floating around Twitter over the weekend there.

“Forty league games, that Ange Postecoglou has been in charge alongside Giovanni.

“Do you know he’s only lost one game? And he’s 17 points ahead of Rangers?

“That is a staggering stat.”

Any you know what? Even at the start of his tenure, Ange offered no excuses when we lost three out of our first seven fixtures.

None at all. With the rebuild in it’s infancy and injuries strangling the club, Postecoglou just got on with it and demanded the same standards from every player that pulled on that Celtic jersey.

That is why Celtic are on the positive end of that stat.
