Everyone know that Celtic are targeting the Japanese market and the two most popular names floating around are Reo Hatate and Daizen Maeda.
Both Japanese stars are said to be hot on the radar for Ange Postecoglou, as the Celtic gaffer looks to strengthen his side in January for the title run in.
The Scotsman today claimed that Celtic are close to sealing the deal for Hatate as Ange Postecoglou looks to strengthen the left side of the defence and Hatate seems to be the man that the Hoops gaffer wants to fit that space.
With Greg Taylor still out injured and Boli Bolingoli well out of the picture, Josip Juranovic has been playing the make shift role at left back.
With the report claiming that talks are under way, it look like Hatate could be Ange’s first winter signing and with the full back out of contract in the summer, Celtic could pick him up for a relatively low fee.
The Scotsman also claims that Celtic are hoping to broker a deal with Postecoglou’s old club, Yokohama F Marinos, for attacker Daizen Maeda.
Maeda has long been spoken about over the last few months and it seems that Celtic are keen to add him to their ranks.
