“Take that with a pinch of salt” – Jota hints at future as former Rangers star claims he is lying to the fans

Jota has been an absolute sensation at Celtic this season. From his outstanding ability on the ball to his uncanny likeness to George Michael, the Celtic fans have taken the Portuguese winger to their hearts.

Jota was outstanding in Germany again in midweek with a well taken goal to put the Hoops 2-1 up, but ultimately, it wasn’t enough as the Hoops finally succumbed and lost 3-2.

Jota opened up on his future as a report in The Sun says that the flair winger is happy at the Hoops, “I don’t know how Benfica think, but my family and friends are of course happy for me.

“Success is something that can come fast, but it can also go fast, so I’ll just work and be humble.

“Sure, I am very happy with Celtic. In my short career I think this is the best moment for me.

“But I have plenty more I want to do. Game after game, knowing my teammates more and us all being together, it will just get better.

“I believe the team is getting stronger.”

But, this is not so says former Rangers defender Alan Hutton. Speaking to Football Insider, Hutton said that Jota knows exactly what he is doing as he believes he is keeping his cards close to his chest, “Take that with a pinch of salt. He’ll be thinking about his future every day of the week. I’ll tell you that right now.

“He’s just saying the right things for everybody. He wants to keep everybody happy, he wants to keep the Celtic fans happy and all the rest of it.

“He’s saying the right things but every footballer wants to be settled and happy. They want to have their future all planned for them and everything to be rosy. That’s what you want.

“Having that is another story but look, he’s done excellent since he’s come in. He’s really hit the ground running, he’s a main player for them at the moment and makes things happen.”

Quite the claim and it seems like Hutton is trying to stir up an issue that is not even there. Celtic have the player until the end of the season. They have first option on him. They also have the fee agreed.

Jota is enjoying his time in Glasgow. There is no need to push this issue.

As long as he is getting first team football and enjoying his time in Paradise, his future will take care of itself.

  1. Why would anyone believe Hutton? He wouldn’t know what truth was, being brought up with the deflection, bigotry and hatred of that dysfunctional club.

    1. Who gives a flying }*%^ what Hutton has to say. A mediocre player who played with 1 racist cheating team and a mediocre team from Birmingham. He should be more worried about the current bunch of racist and what they’re going to do to avoid dying like another bunch of cheating racist that played out of £brokes.
