With Celtic confirming the signing of Brendan Rodgers this afternoon, at least it puts to bed the whole will they, won’t they sign for us saga that we witnessed two years ago with Eddie Howe.
Now the club can look forward and start planning for next season. Or can they?

With Bournemouth sacking their manager at the same time as Brendan Rodgers was confirmed by Celtic, Paddy Power sent this brilliantly timed tweet.
Brendan Rodgers has been confirmed as new Celtic manager.

"I'm delighted to return to the club," he said, "and I will give it my all until another mid-level Premier League team want me."
The tweet was meant as a send-up to the last time Rodgers left the club for Leicester in 2019 and the betting giant took no time in taking advantage of the opportunity to gain a little bit of publicity. And the Celtic fans did see the funny side of it.
But this is a very good day for the supporters. Today puts an end to a fortnight of intense speculation and at least with Rodgers, we know what we are getting.
A treble winner, an elite coach and someone who can look to take us forward in Europe with the backing of the board.
