BBC pundit, Michael Stewart has told Celtic who he thinks should replace Ange Postecoglou at the club.
The Australian is set to be named the new Spurs manager over the next couple of days and Celtic are now searching for his replacement.
With various managers already linked to the position, Stewart says Celtic could ‘do a lot worse’ than signing the man he is about to suggest.
Stewart said [BBC], “Dare I say it, perhaps they look to their old manager Brendan Rodgers to see if they can get him back.
“I’m not sure how that would go down but I think they could do a hell of a lot worse. Regardless of what people think and how things ended at Leicester City, that is a guy who is a top manager and he is available.”
If Celtic did go down that route and completed the reappointment Rodgers it would completely split the fanbase.
Many supporters never forgiven Rodgers for the way he walked out of the club two and a half years ago and would vehemently protest his return to the club.
With reports suggesting that Rodgers may not be interested in the role we may notnhavebto worry too much about him coming back to Celtic Park.
I suppose, if anything, these comments donshow how out of touch Stewart is woth the Celtic fans which is unusual as he is normally well in tune with fans feelings in the game.
