“Impressed”, “Robbed”, “Incredible” – Juranovic sets the Bundesliga on fire

If we were ever in any doubt of the quality of Josip Juranovic, there needs to be none now.

The Croatian left Celtic in a £10m deal to join Union Berlin and he made his debut last night in a sparkling 2-1 away at Werder Bremen that saw his side take second spot in the Bundesliga, just trailing behind Bayern Munich.

And it seems that Jura set the league on fire on his debut as Union Berlin are clearly impressed with their new acquisition.

On the club website they reported, “All eyes were on Juranovic at kick off, of course, and his first touch was simple, a flicked pass back to Danilho Doekhi.

He would impress as the first half wore on, getting used to the movements of his team-mates, increasingly linking up with Genki Haraguchi and Sheraldo Becker on the right.

He robbed Leonardo Bittencourt with battling, determined ease. And if they were there, the Croatian betrayed few signs of nerves.
