“It was put to me by a very well-placed source” – Phil Mac predicts UEFA trouble at Ibrox

The club that resides from Ibrox calls itself Rangers, acts like Rangers but doesn’t have the spending power of it’s namesake.

Well, that’s not strictly true. They have overspent massively since they were reborn in 2012, to the tune of £100m to be exact and by all accounts the beady eye of UEFA is fixed firmly on them like Sauron was when he was trying to track down two Hobbits (Rangers) trying to hide that ring (the accounts).

Where there was and still is inaction by our own governing body, UEFA has decided to put the Hobbits on a watch list.

And now, according to Phil Mac Ghiolla Bhain, the eye is completely transfixed on the Ibrox club as they added to their squad this January window whilst not being in a financially viable position to do so.

Writing in his most recent blog, Phil said that to mitigate those signings, the Ibrox club has two choices in how they explain that away to the watchful eye of Europe’s governing body:

I hope they try it because UEFA has a stronger backbone than our pathetic excuse of a Governing body.

It looks like this summer could be very interesting for the Govan club.

And for us.
