Incredible BBC Champions League stats that show Ange is on the right track

Look, after all that’s said and done people will tell you that the only stats that matter is that Celtic are out of the Champions League.

For those with narrow minds that is.

But for those of us that dig a little deeper into the game, the main purpose of this campaign was to see if our style of play can mix it with the big boys.

Yes, we could have sat back and shut up shop and hoped to nick a goal and hang onto a lead, but look how that turned out when Celtic took an early lead against Barcelona back in 2017.

So Ange decided to do it his way and for that we will be better off next season.

Take a look at these stats that were posted by the BBC last night:

But for being more clinical in front of goal, our campaign could have been a whole lot different.

These show that Ange is onto something here but then, that’s not news to us.

Only our rivals look at the snapshot to try and take some cheap dig at us when, in reality, they should be holding their counsel.

Worst Champions League team in history and a trophy cabinet that is matched by St Johnstone.

For us that can see the bigger picture here, I can’t wait to see how we fare in Europe next season because after what we have witnessed after our first foray into the competition, we certainly have more than enough when it comes to going toe to toe with Europe’s elite.
