The Ange Postecoglou story is one thatbis going to carry on all week. In fact, let me rephrase that. The replacement for Ange Postecoglou is a story that is likely to run for the rest of the week.
Now that we know the Celtic manager is leaving for the English Premier League, talk now turns to who could be his succesor.
And journalist, Sacha Pisani has offered a name but due to his “unfortunate” past, it is unlikely a move will ever come about.
Pisani tweeted, “If only Muscat didn’t have a history with Rangers, I’d say he could replace Postecoglou at Celtic.
“Melbourne Victory:
• Replaced Ange & won 2 Championships, 2 Premierships & a cup.
“F.Marinos:
• Replaced Ange & won the league + cup.
“Exciting brand of football.“
Muscat has always been referred to as a manager in the mould of Postecoglou. His brand of football would suit us and his success at replacing Ange at Yokohama F Marinos shows he has the winning mentality required to win titles.
This is one we can file under “never going to happen”. We will never have a manager with a Rangers history at our club. It just wouldn’t wash with the supporters.
There will be plenty of rumours circulating over the next few days, let’s hope Celtic have some names in mind and are actively working to get this sorted out as soon as possible.
