“I’d fall off my chair in shock” – Tom English predicts Sevco manager hunt heartache for Bears

The circus that is Rangers continues as the Govan club continues it’s search for a new manager.

As Ange Postecoglou strengthens his grip on the title with the addition of Yuki Kobayashi today, the Rangers fans strengthen the grip on their hankies as they still wait and see who is going to be daft enough to jump into the Ibrox hotseat.

Two early favourites for the job were, and still are, Michael Beale and Steven Gerrard.

If either were approached and accepted the job, that reeks of serious desperation and lack of ambition in my opinion.

But it looks like it may not happen after all. That’s according to Tom English.

Speaking on BBC Sportsound, English said, “I’d fall off my chair in shock if either of them went back to Rangers.

I think Gerrard will say that he’s done that job. He’s moved on. No point in going back.

Beale, I think he’s got his hands full in the job that he’s in. It’s an excellent job. He’s sitting seventh.

His teams form is falling away but the Premiership is still within within his grasp and I just can’t see him going back to Rangers.”

After the furore and vitriol both received when they left the club over a year ago, they would need to be mental to return to Govan.

Fingers crossed it happens eh?
