“I Wouldn’t Rule It Out” – John Hartson Makes Bold Title Claim

Not one Celtic fan could have predicted the transition of the current Hoops team under Ange Postecoglou. Not one. Even the most hardcore ardent elements of our support could not have foreseen the incredible turnaround in the teams performance from the dirge we had to endure last season.

And quite simply, because Celtic were so poor almost every single fan had given up their chances of winning the league. A cup would have been a start, but the league? Not a flying fig……..

Enter Ange.

The turnaround in performances since the Celtic gaffer has taken over has been astounding. Players like Tom Rogic, Ryan Christie and Anthony Ralston, players that Neil Lennon couldn’t get a tune out of last season, are playing out of their skins. And that coupled with the capture of Kyogo and Joe Hart have gave the fans a lot more optimism about facing the season ahead.

John Hartson is also incredibly optimistic too. Speaking on Go Radio, Hartson made a bold claim about this seasons title race that will delight every Celtic fan, “So in terms of what Ange has had to do, and how quickly he’s got the fans together again and believing, I wouldn’t rule it out. I wouldn’t rule it out.

And I’ve said at the start the season that we are in transition, and we might have to wait a year or two just to get the team going and give Ange little bit of time to build.

But with Rangers going out in the Champions League and with them sort of sticking a little bit in terms of losing at Dundee United.

Not starting convincingly to this particular league. I don’t think you can rule it out. I really don’t.

I think with another three or four additions there’s a big chance that we could claw the title back.”

And I’ll tell you something. Who can argue with that? With the impending transfer of Josip Juranovic and with Ange confident of more incomings, this season’s title has certainly come off the write off list!

  1. Total agree with Big John. And we can start by pumping the manky mob in their ain midden. If we can do that I the infighting there will be joyous.

  2. I love the way Big John is unabashedly “we” when it comes to Celtic. No pussyfooting around with displaying his true allegiances, no “keeping it neutral so as not to upset the frothing morons of ibrokes”, just heart-on-his-sleeve Timmery! Marvelous.
