“I Would Go For Two” – Mark Guidi Name Checks Possible Celtic Target. This Name Just Won’t Go Away.

As Celtic set the heather on fire on the pitch, the fans are looking for the board to do the same off it.

With Ange Postecoglou confident of sealing more deals before the transfer window, plans should be afoot for the eventual departure of Odsonne Edouard.

The Frenchman is being heavily tipped to leave Celtic this summer and journalist, Mark Guidi, has urged the Hoops to look closer to home to find his replacement.

Speaking on Go Radio, Guidi said, “If I’m Celtic, I would be going for two. Kevin Nesbit and A.N. Other.

“With the greatest respect, looking for an upgrade. I’ve said the same about the goalkeeping situation, if the right striker becomes available there’s nothing wrong with negotiating as long as you get the right type of player.

If you think that there is a title winning striker out there, bearing in mind if Edouard goes, that’s going to get you your 20-25 goals the Celtic should be paying that type of money.

But Celtic need a title winning striker and they should be going out and paying the money as long as it’s the right one.”

Guidi is not the first pundit to tell Celtic to sign the Scotland international. Former Hoops midfielder Davie Provan is also a fan and he said that Nesbit would be a “terrific” signing for the Parkhead club.

No doubt, Nesbit is a different type of player to Edouard but he does know where the back of the net is and with Ange Postecoglou’s style of football he could turn into a prolific striker with the amount of chances that would be served up to him in this Celtic side.
