“I think they can make a hefty profit on him” – Barry Ferguson tips Celtic star for big money move

I’m going to go out on a limb here and say Barry is hoping rather than tipping here.

Ferguson has had to watch on as Celtic keep their stranglehold on the Scottish domestic scene and with the gap at the top stretched to nine points at the World Cup break, Ferguson will be disappointed at watching on as his team struggles and we continue to go from strength to strength.

But one player that has caught Ferguson’s eye is Reo Hatate.

Speaking on The Go Radio Football Show, Ferguson waxed lyrical about the Japanese midfielder and has tipped him to make a big money EPL move, “I’ll be honest with you. He’s a player that’s only became professional, I think, 21 or 22 years of age over in Japan.

So he’s still really early in his football career. He’s 24 years of age and he’s a player.

There’s no doubt. He’s one that if he continues this sort of form teams are going to be coming in and seriously looking to take him down south.

As I said, he’s great in terms of his passing. He can short pass, he can do long diags and he’s got great energy about him.

So certainly, he’s a player I knew nothing about. One of these players that Postecoglou has brought in from Japan, but he certainly impressed me.

And as I said, in terms of Celtic’s recruitment, that will be one that I think they can make a hefty profit on if he continues that sort of form.”

Like I said at the beginning, I think this is hope on Barry’s part as the Celtic midfielder helps us keep our grip on the title and has been one of our standout players this season.

As long as Postecoglou stays as Celtic, Hatate will remain at the club and I reckon that will be for a few more years yet.
