“I don’t think” – John Hartson makes incredible statement on Celtic’s transfer budget

As Celtic fans look forward to another transfer window, the supporters will be eager to see what kind of quality Ange Postecoglou can bring in.

With the club being heavily linked to players from Japan and Brazil, it seems moves are well under way to secure reinforcements as the Hoops look to wrestle the league title back from Ibrox.

But Celtic fans may need to temper their expectations this window according to former Celtic striker John Hartson.

Speaking on Go Radio, Hartson delivered a transfer budget assessment that will disappoint the fans, “So what Ange has to do is, he has to tap into the market.

And I don’t think Celtic have got millions and millions of pounds to spend.

No, but I think they’ll back the manager. I don’t think they spent £30 million.

No, that’s what I’m saying. But I just think that for the right player, then I just think five, six million.

A couple of 2 million pound players this but and I just think Ange has got a good eye for a player.”

As the Hoops fans are expecting a significant investment in the playing squad, this will no go down well. Especially with the money from Ajer, Frimpong, Edouard and Christie still burning a hole in the Celtic boards pockets.

With less than four weeks until the transfer window opens, we will see if the board match Ange’s ambitions with some cold hard cash.
