Right, I know. It’s Hugh Keevins. But bear with me here.
I don’t think for a second that the league is over. I think you’ll be hard pressed to find any Celtic fan that thinks that until they see a large lady in the corner singing her heart out.
But what I am though, is realistic.
I’m realist to know that it will be tough for them to catch us and I am also realistic enough to know that the two Derby games could swing the title if they win them.
Anything can happen. But for that scenario to take place Celtic would need to have a completely dramatic collapse in form, which I don’t see happening and Rangers would need to outperform every team and go unbeaten in the league, which I also don’t see happening.
Especially the outperforming part. Because out of the eleven games Beale has been in charge, they have only outperformed one team in Scotland and that was Hearts on Wednesday night.
So why did Hugh Keevins spew this out on Clyde 1 last night, “And I think the word ‘transformation‘ can now be applied to the job that Michael Beale is doing at Rangers.
“They left Hearts in little bits and pieces when they left Edinburgh on Wednesday night.
“Celtic, again impressive against Livingston and the two of them now go head to head for the title.
“And I don’t think you can say it is done and dusted if Rangers continue to play in that exciting type if fashion and we still have two derbies to go.”
The only thing that has ‘transformed’ is their results. And aside from Wednesday night, their performances have been abysmal.
Hell, they struggled to break down St Johnstone with 10 men just last week so, please Hugh, let’s just calm down a wee bit.
