As Celtic get used to Angeball (yes it’s a real phrase and it is staying!), and the team looks like it starting to gel together, the one position that has been the subject of contention of the Celtic supporters lives for over a season now is the goalkeeping one.
As Vasilis Barkas, Scott Bain and Conor Hazard recover from the latest game of ring a roses with the number one jersey, Joe Hart looks like he will now be the main man between the sticks as Ange Postecoglou looks to cement the former England No1 as his main man.
Speaking on Go Radio, journalist Mark Guidi, was lavish in his praise for Hart and said that the club have pulled off a great signing and the capture of the Englishman is like a £7-8m signing, “Is Joe Hart, the best that Celtic can get can get in that position? Taking everything into account? Yeah.
“I said last week, if the right goalie became available at seven or eight million then go buy him . Joe heart, really is a seven, eight million pound goalkeeper. Easy.
“He’s got 75 England caps and has played at World Cups. So he will come here and do really really well. And it’ll bring a calmness to a new defence. It’s going to settle in.
“There will be a new partner for Starfelt there’ll be a new right back. Potentially a new left back as well.
“There will be potentially a new back five by the end of this transfer window. Joe Hart will be key to it and I think is a good move by the club.
Early indications are that Guidi could be correct and at 34 years of age, Hart still has a lot to offer the club.

What Mark Guidi says about all things Celtic is typically of no material concern to me, for he is a buffoon and lacks credibility. However, as a Celtic fan I can see that Joe Hart will be a great signing. He is better than the keepers we had available and it represents great business by the club.
