“He Will Understand The Pressure Of Celtic” – Former Double Winner Gives Seal Of Approval to Celtic Target

With Celtic now in the hunt for a new goalkeeper, former Celtic defender and Double winner Gary Caldwell, has said the expected signing of Joe Hart would be a welcome addition to the inexperience of the Hoops back line.

Speaking on Clyde 1 Superscoreboard, Caldwell said, “It’s difficult to find goalkeepers, one that are available, that probably don’t cost a lot of money, I wouldn’t think Celtic would want to invest a lot of money in a goalkeeper.

“I think that’s where for me Joe Hart ticks a lot of boxes. He is a good age. He’s a good character. He will understand the pressure of Celtic.

“He’s had that before at Man City, the pressure of winning league titles.

“The question mark is is he a good enough goalie? Has he had enough game time over the last few years.

“As back to 2018/19 he played 21 games and very little since then. But for me, he ticks lot of the boxes. He is somebody that can come in, in terms of character, tried and tested and bring a bit experience to have very very unexperienced back line.”

It certainly does seem like Greek international Vasilis Barkas’ time is up at Parkhead and with the league campaign set to kick off at Tynecastle on Saturday night, it is clear that Celtic boss Ange Postecoglou does not trust Barkas as his number 1 for the season.

The main question is this. Is Joe Hart the answer to the goalkeeping position or will he just make us ask more questions?

  1. The second Joe Hart sets foot in Scotland he becomes the best keeper in Scotland by a country mile. Let’s not kid ourselves here with this. He may not be the long term answer but there is not another goalkeeper in the country who could strap his gloves. End of. Bring him in Celtic for the 52/ 1 season.

  2. Will be the best keeper we’ve had since Simpson. Absolute no brainer
