“He Is As Well Moving On” – Journalist Challenges Celtic Wonderkid to Prove His Worth

Youth seems to be the order of the day at Celtic Park at the moment.

With Ange Postecoglou seemingly focusing his transfer dealings in the youthful side of the market, the big Australians faith in producing and developing talent seems unshakeable.

There is one boy Celtic currently have in their ranks that has shown great promise over the last few years as he progresses through the ranks at Paradise.

Sometimes it is easy to forget he is only 18 years old himself, but young Karamoko Dembele has been challenged by reporter and pundit, Mark Guidi, to grab an opportunity to stake a place in the Hoops first team this season, or move on.

Speaking on The Go Radio Football Show, Guidi was straight to the point, “I think at the moment if your Karamoko Dembele and you’ve been assessing the situation you’re saying at the moment, ‘There’s a position for me there to take for me to go and impress a manager’.

“Show the right attitude. Show maturity, show tactical nous then you’ll get a real chance of being involved. And if you can’t get a game just now for Celtic then there’s a problem.

“Clearly you’re not good enough, so he is as well moving on. If you can’t force your way into the managers plans just now, then there’s a problem you’d be as well going to look for pastures new.

“And reading and listening to Postecoglou, I don’t think he’s the type who’ll have time for passengers or suffer fools gladly.

“He’ll be assessing them all from the staff through to the players. And very quickly I think you’ll see him being ruthless. But he can only be ruthless when he’s got bodies coming in the other way.”

Clearly the youngster has the talent. There is no doubt so the question remains, what has been holding him back these last two years. One thing is for sure, this is his chance to make his mark. He has one year left on his contract. He has to make it count.
