I always felt we never gave this guy a proper chance at Paradise.
Since his £3m move, Patryk Klimala always found himself in and out the team as he played second fiddle to Odsonne Edouard.
Fleeting appearances and irregular game time never really gave the powerful Polish striker much of a chance to make his mark on the team and strangely enough, I think he moved too soon.
Klimala would have been perfect for Ange Postecoglou’s system. A great engine, quick and strong, he would have been ideal for the high press and ‘Angeball’.
He could very well be the genuine ‘one that got away’.
Today, Klimala was full of praise, surprisingly, for his time he had at Paradise and gave the Parkhead some incredible praise in his latest interview from the USA, “I learned from better players at Celtic.
“I came from Białystok as a raw player.
“At Celtic, I gained experience and knowledge.
“I feel like my time at Celtic prepared me to play at a higher level.
“At Celtic, I improved my physical condition.
“There, the game is fast and based on physicality.
“Even before the quarantine, I made a decision that I needed to improve and with the help of the coaches, I did.
“One of the main reasons I went to the USA was game time.
“I missed that a lot. I was frustrated, which is why I made this decision with a snap of my fingers.
“I knew that there would be a greater chance for development here. For now, I think it has been a good move.“
And hidden in there is some praise for the coaches at Celtic who he credits with helping him to improve to get his big move.
Yeah, I know. Looks like a laptop is useful after all.
