Celts ‘battle’ Serie A side for 22 year old international star

There has been plenty of transfer rumours regarding the Hoops over the course of the last two weeks.

With the January window opening in just over eight weeks, the speculation will be fraught with transfer news as Celtic have already been linked with various stars across the globe already, they once again have been linked with yet another international star from the Far East.

According to The Daily Record, the Hoops are hot on the trail of South Korean international, Song Min-kyu.

Min-Kyu currently plies his trade in the Korean K League with Jeonbuk and has six international caps.

Having just joined Jeonbuk in the summer, the Koreans will be unwilling to let him leave so soon but his current form has already alerted the Hoops and Serie A cracks Udinese as well as Turkish Super League side Fenerbache.

Valued at just over £1m [Transfermarkt] it seems it wouldn’t take a bank bursting offer to land the winger, but with Udinese lurking alongside the Fenerbache, the last thing Celtic need is a bidding war with teams from leagues with vasts sums of cash at their disposal.

As Ange Postecoglou also seemingly keeping tabs on Japan international Daezen Maeda, it seems the Celtic boss is seriously focused on boosting his attacking options in the winter window.
