Celtic to take £3m “loss” on defender

As Jack Hendry makes his move to Oostende, less than an hour later, it has been reported that the Belgians could be on course to more than double their investment.

With the reported fee being paid to Celtic for Hendry being at around the £2m mark, it seems West Brom are hopeful of bagging the Scotland defender for a cool £5m.

The former Hoops defender enjoyed a rich vein for from in the Belgian Juliper League last season, so much so that he was crowned the league’s “Best Player”.

Fleeting appearances at the Euro’s which included his mistake that led to the Czech Republic’s second goal in the opening fixture wasn’t enough to put the Belgians off placing their £2m bet on Hendry with the hope of selling him on for a profit.

And it seems the gamble is about to pay off quicker than they thought with The Baggies about to swoop any day now.
