“Celtic should be worried” – Pundit sends Ange a very bizarre warning

Celtic Park from Janefield Street

Another day, another pundit telling Ange to be careful because Michael Beale is in town.

But this time, the pundit in question needs to be laughed at for his reasoning. Well all the pundits do but this guys reasons for Ange to be worried are just laughable.

First off the bat, it’s Noel Whelan. His knowledge on Celtic Ange and anything Scottish football is up there with mine on Quantum Physics.

He simply has no clue. Bit that didn’t stop him being asked on what he thought about Beales appointment at Rangers.

When you look at Van Bronckhorst, big name, big disappointment,” Whelan told Football Insider.

“Steven Gerrard was unproven. A big name but unproven. He was a huge success and won them the Premiership.

“Beale was there while that was going on. I would say the Championship is more difficult than the Scottish Premiership so I think he is proven.

“Celtic and Rangers are expected to finish one and two and win the cups. There is not as much pressure on at Rangers in my opinion.

“They should be in the Champions League every season, the only rivalry they have is Celtic. They are the two giants of Scottish football.

“Beale will at least get them second this season. He is walking into a club where he might not be the big name but his record speaks for itself.

“From what I have seen and heard, I think Celtic should be worried.”

Steven Gerrard was a guge success? One trophy in four years? He watched, with Beale, as Celtic picked up a Quadruple Treble and our second nine in a row.

St Johnstone won more trophies during his tenure as Ibrox gaffer. Hell, Postecoglou beat it in his first season during a huge rebuild!

And in what way in Beale ‘proven’ the Championship? Did he win it? Are QPR in the promotion places? A 40% win rate is hardly a success.

This just smacks of someone opening their mouths and showing their complete ignorance on not only our club, but their knowledge of the game as a whole.

Whelan would be best sticking to the day job, whatever that is because football analysis is not it.
