“Celtic Are Looking For A Different Dimension” – Pundit Bizzarrely Claims Postecoglou Is Looking To Rip Up The Blueprints

Ange Postecoglou has worked wonders and brought new admirers to the style of football Celtic are bringing to the table.

The high press and relentless attack has allowed the Celtic fans to fall in love with their team again and it is safe to say, every game now is looked upon with a sense of anticipation compared to what we had to endure last season.

And Postecoglou’s playing style has never changed since his early days of managing.

You only need to look to journalists and pundits, like Craig Moore who have worked with him, who all unanimously say that all he knows is attack.

So this makes the next statement by former Aberdeen and Livingston striker Noel Whelan very strange. Speaking to Football Insider, Whelan says the link to Celtic looking to sign Kyle Hudlin is an indication that Ange wants completely change his footballing style, “Celtic are looking for a different dimension.

“You can see that they want a focal point. I completely get that. Wyke is one of those players who has a stature about him.

“You can play long balls up to him and play off him. He holds the ball up so well and that’s what Celtic want.

“They have a lot of technical players in and around that one centre forward Postecoglou would love to have.

“A player like that can draw out defenders which then frees up space for the players in behind.

“I can see why Celtic want to do that. Also, look at when they concede, they aren’t the tallest team in the world.

“Adding a brilliant asset who can attack and defend at corners makes sense.”

It’s a far reach, I’ll give him that but I personally don’t think Ange is of a mind to change a playing blueprint that he has lived by his whole career just for the sake of signing a non league striker.
