Brutally honest but cutting on the edge of disrespectful and the Celtic fans love it.
They love it because they have had enough of the usual sound bites from the club and former manager Neil Lennon.
His press conference today was simply brilliant. The way he bats questions away and is already starting to put little bits of pressure on the Celtic board is simple, effective and refreshing.
During the clubs pre match Champions League press conference, Ange was asked if he could potentially pull out a wildcard over the next 24 hours for the tie against Midtjylland and the look on Callum McGregor’s face tells you all you need to know about Ange’s answer:
But it wasn’t just his reply to the press that impressed the fans today. His dig at the fitness levels of the team is a clear, but familiar swipe at the previous manager.
Ronny Delia also made the same assertion after taking over from Neil Lennon’s first reign as Celtic manager and it seems we have gone full circle.
One thing is for sure, the Hoops fans love him and are ready to back him.
They understand the size of the job ahead of Ange and the club and are willing to give him the insurance policy of time.
However, if anything does go wrong at Celtic this season there is one thing for sure, the finger of blame is being pointed squarely at the suits.
