“At what point do we start focusing on Ange?” – Major Celtic podcaster questions Postecoglou

Questions are being asked. And quite rightly too.

When a Celtic team returns from European duty managing to knock three goals in against a top La Liga side and then fail to hit the back of the net against the bottom side in the Scottish league, and you don’t ask questions, then something is far wrong.

Speaking on the A Celtic State of Mind podcast, host Paul John Dykes has asked is it time to start looking at Celtic gaffer Ange Postecoglou and makes a damning statement at the Hoops chances of winning the league this season, “We spoke at the beginning of the game and at half time, about that moment when you need to start looking at Ange Postecoglou.

I’m sitting here at six games in and I have no confidence that Celtic are going to win this league.

I’m comparing today’s result against the result the other night, were I came away with plenty of positivity and we discussed all the positive aspects of coming away from Spain, with a narrow 4-3 defeat.

“Today is a different ballgame entirely. We go into that game today, our away record is poor. Our record at the Tony Macaroni is dreadful. And we fail to come away with anything.

At the same time at Ibrox, Rangers dropped two points.

At what point does the mitigating circumstances become less and less, and we start focusing on Ange Postecoglou? Poor team selection. Poor use of substitutes. Poor tactics.”

It was always going to be a long rebuilding process and maybe Postecoglou is now a victim of his short success. The 6-0 home victories at Celtic Park have, rightly or wrongly, given the Parkhead faithful a false sense of hope but maybe it is just time to face facts.

We are not good enough yet.

  1. Never was and never will be Good enough for Celtic
We all knew it was a panic appointment at the time by an incompetent board.
Gone by Christmas then we start all over again
Last season and this season with ecl qualification so important yet we stand by and let a bunch of incompetents ruin our club
We have no one to blame but ourselves- celebrating a 4-3 defeat ineurope is pathetic

  2. LET ANGE BRING IN HIS OWN STAFF AND GIVE HIM MONEY TO BUY NEW PLAYERS THERE HAS BEEN A LOT OF INJURY SO NO WANDER WHY WE ARE NOT WINNING DONT BLAME THE MANAGER BLAME THE BOARD FOR NOT GIVING ANGETO DO THE JOB HE WAS BROUGHT IN TO DO AND HE SHOULD STANRT BY GETTING SHOT OF KENNEDY & STRACHEN
