This appointment came right out of left field didn’t it.

Alex Rae as Reading interim Assistant Manager was quite the coup.

For him. And for all of the non Rangers supporting camps of Scotland.

No longer do we need to listen to his inane drivel polluting the airwaves through Clyde 1, we now have the immense excitement of watching him make a fool of himself on Match of the Day.

But, for balance and to be fair, they pulled of a good 2-1 win against Birmingham last night to take them eight points clear of the relegation zone.

But once the Reading players suddenly realise that the baldy guy next to Ince isn’t speaking French and is not Zidane, we’ll soon find out how they react to this appointment.

The fans initial reaction, however, wasn’t as positive as their first result. And not just the Reading fans:
