“Celtic are the victims of VAR” – Hugh Keevins incredible VAR conclusion as he seems to suggest we just move on

Out of everything that has been written and said over the farcical VAR system that we have, this must be the most imbalanced views I’ve heard all week.

As most football pundits and journalists agree that the new technology has made a blunder on the Jota ‘goal’ Hug Keevins agrees that the decisions against our club but rather than suggest we need to make improvements, it seems that the veteran journalist would like us all to just accept the decision and move on.

Speaking on Clyde 1 Superscoreboard, Keevins said, “VAR is now a top of the news agenda in this country and I’ve always maintained that VAR is incompatible with the Scottish temperament and we are showing that now.

Celtic have made the case out of the Jota goal, or non goal and that put it to the top of the news agenda.

However, I do believe that Celtic at Tynecastle and against Dundee United last weekend, were victims of VAR or bad the refereeing. And they do feel sore about this.

But the Jota was not a goal according to the technology and we have to obey the technology.”

Could you imagine any other club taking that stance.

I mean the Ibrox club went full scale meltdown when they got a penalty and a red card against them in one match, imagine if they suffered what we have over the last three games.

There would be calls for investigations, sackings and devotions. Hell, that club would want to shut the game down.

So, no. We will not ‘obey’ anything. We will not just throw our hands up and say ‘Well, what can you do?’

That’s an attitude for people who don’t fight for their club. That’s an attitude that caused the club across the city to die.

Celtic fans will always question the authorities no matter how much people like Keevins want us not to.
