“It wouldn’t surprise me” – Mark Guidi claims two Sevco players were ‘offered’ to Celtic and addresses Jota and Abada to Rangers claim

Celtic Park from Janefield Street

What a mental world we live in eh?

No content with what they have over at Ibrox, a fan called The Go Radio Football Show to claim that Rangers were offered the chance to sign Jota and Abada before Celtic.

Unreal. And obviously a blatant mistruth. Because if that was the case, why would they not?

Is their scouting so bad that they cannot see an extremely talented player when they are offered them?

Imagine it, “Gio! What do you make of these two?”

Gio: Uuuuumm, don’t talk ahhhhh p*sh. Get me ahhhhhhh Matondo on the uuuummm phone.”

Incredible stuff. But Guidi addressed that and dropped two current Rangers players that he knows of that were offered to Celtic, “All I would say in general terms, I’m not being specific to Abada and Jota being offered to Rangers, but what we do know in this business, in this industry, is that you generally find that Celtic and Rangers get offered the same players.

When the agents and the clubs are doing the rounds because they know that they are in similar markets, same size of clubs, etc, etc.

For example, I’m pretty certain that Celtic were offered Kemar Roofe as well. I’m pretty certain that Celtic were offered Filip Helander as well. So you get to know that pretty much when clubs or agents are trying to tout their players.

I don’t know for sure about Abada and Jota, I genuinely don’t know for sure. But it wouldn’t surprise me if that was the case.”

Well that tells me one of two things, Rangers are a basket case and don’t know how to recruit properly and Rangers are a basket case and don’t know how to recruit properly.

Brilliant!
