Stephen Craigan sends huge ‘fearful’ Celtic warning to rivals

Sunday’s 9-0 win over Dundee United will send a message to the rest of the league.

Make no bones about that.

The manner of the victory is such that even with 40 minutes of play gone, the score was still 1-0 and Dundee United were still in the match.

That was until Celtic stepped it up a gear and, well, the rest is history.

But when asked if another team will suffer a defeat like that at the hands of Celtic, former Motherwell man Stephen Craigan sent a warning to the rest of the SPFL.

Speaking on Go Radio, Craigan said, “I think they will. I think we’ll see a lot of these.

Maybe not nines, but we’ll see a lot of five, sixes and sevens. I just think the quality between the two sides is vast.

The finances are vast, the quality of player, the disparity between them all is getting bigger and bigger.

And I’d imagine that a few managers will be fearful going to Celtic Park when they’re on it.

When the results have been good, thinking we can take a walloping here, which means it has to add an edge to the opposing teams going there just because the quality is so vast.”

In truth, we have been threatening that kind of victory since Ange let it be known he wasn’t happy with the team after the 2-0 win against Aberdeen.

Could you imagine if we got just half that scoreline against them on Saturday? The meltdown will be glourious.
