Hugh Keevins makes bizarre claim about Sevco new boy

I love how the Scottish media fawn over *Rangers whenever they make a new signing.

The circus surrounding the arrival of Aaron Ramsey was just priceless as everyone outside Ibrox and the media knew this would be a disastrous signing.

And we were proved correct.

As with Amad Diallo. Billed, by the press, as a wonderkid, Diallo amounted to next to nothing, except various social media clips highlighting his brilliant passing skills.

But it was Hugh Keevins comments on last nights Superscoreboard where he described the signing of Antonio Colak as ‘having the knack of scoring goals‘.

Is that why he was sold for just £1.8m? Really?

Let’s delve into Colak.

Rangers 11th (yes ELEVENTH) club at just the ripe old age of 28, Colak clearly must be one of Europe’s top hitmen to have so many clubs right?

Let’s go back to 2013-14, Nuremberg. Seven appearances. No goals.

Next season farmed out on loan to Gdansk. 30 appearances. 10 goals. One in three in the Polish league is hardly hitman material.

2015 a loan to Kaiserslautern. 22 games. 5 goals.

Then Darmstadt. Same appearances. Same goals.

Ingolstadt. Six appearances. Zero goals.

And it wasn’t until he moved to Rijeka where over two seasons in the Croatian top flight in 2018 where Colak found his shooting boots. 90 appearances and 50 goals.

Earned him a move to PAOK. 39 appearances. 4 goals.

Then Malmo. 40 appearances. 19 goals.

The knack of scoring goals? The knack of boarding a flight Colak has considering the amount of clubs he has had.

So please don’t insult our intelligence with these claims when a simple Google search proves these statements to be simply untrue.

But then, got to keep the Ibrox hordes sweet now don’t we?

  1. He’ll be good enough to bang them in against yer St. Mirrens and Caley Thistles and that’s all they really need. They know that Europa final is not going to be repeated for quite some time so it won’t matter if he doesn’t win the Golden Boot anytime soon…
