Tom English is one of those reporters that Celtic fans have a ‘frosty’ relationship with isn’t he?
Seen as a journalist that is always looking for an anti Celtic slant on anything the club does or achieves, the veteran reporter always seems to get it tight on Twitter.
As Celtic wrapped up the title yesterday with a rousing 4-1 win over Hearts. English took to twitter to congratulate the team on their (almost) fine achievement:
Quite a decent tweet. Quite complimentary and praising the player and manager. Nothing wrong with that.
But it was this response to a fan that garnered all the attention:
And the replies to this were quite astounding considering the nature of the comment and unless I have my facts wrong, is Tom not on the money here?
Now I am no expert on the subject, far from it, but I know why Celtic fans refer to some commentators in the media as a soup taker. I know what it is in reference to, but unless I am mistaken, to deny the expression was born out of the famine is off the mark is it not?
It’s certainly split some opinions in the Celtic circle.
