“Because of where he works, he has to keep such opinions under wraps” – Phil Mac reveals journalist message after John Beaton announcement

Match Day Celtic Park

Some people in this blogging game just don’t have the time for the Scottish main stream journalists.

There are, without doubt, many good ones out there who are not afraid to call out the nonsense from Govan or the SFA and we all know who they are. But there are those who simply will not deviate from the ‘script’. And we all know who they are too.

In Phil Mac Ghiolla Bháin’s recent blog post he revealed a message he received after the announcement of John Beaton’s appointment as the referee of the final Glasgow Derby of the season.

And knowing where Beaton’s allegiances lie in Glasgow, this journalist couldn’t believe he was given the nod for Sunday.

Phil wrote, “Today it was announced this guy [Beaton] will be the referee for the season finale at Parkhead.

“I immediately received a message from a sensible member of the Fitba Fourth Estate [the press]:

‘Nowhere else in the world would you have this.’

“Because of where he works, he has to keep such opinions under wraps.”

The Scottish press. Still a cesspit of anti Celtic bias.

Not really surprising is it?
