“Why did Sky sack you, David?” – Celtic fans rinse Tanner’s selective reporting

Celtic Park

Some people just don’t get rivalry do they?

Not one bit.

For me, rivalry is what sets Scottish football apart from other leagues like the fairweather English Premier League where money has diluted the game to such an extent that you can purchase half and half scarves at their supposed derby games.

But it was Celtic’s tweet announcing Rangers going 2-1 up that triggered former Sky Sports man, David Tanner.

Tanner tweeted this reply to Celtic:

Really? Why? Does David have selective reading or even selective hearing whenever their teams fans discuss our club?

Constant referrals to child abuse, calling our fans beasts at every opportunity and then there was yesterday’s songbook.

Some dreadful sectarian singing going on but it was a TWEET from Celtic that offended the Talksport journalist?

Pathetic.

I am more than happy for Celtic to refer to them this way. Respect is a two way street and until their fans start giving us it and drop their derogatory and shameful narrative, I fully endorse the clubs refusal to name them.
