“Dave is playing a blinder” – Phil Mac has bad news for the Sevco fans

Dave King is certainly an enigma isn’t he?

From being one of the members of the board responsible for old Rangers dying to becoming a saviour in the eyes of the new clubs fans, he certainly has played a blinder.

But not in the way Phil Mac Ghiolla Bháin explains.

As Club 1872 purchase shares in ‘The Rangers’ to the tune of £450,000 not a single penny of that money is going to the club. It’s going straight into Dave Kings back pocket.

That is money the club certainly could use seeing as that elusive Champions League group stage place is looking ever likely to be heading to Glasgow’s East End.

The Irish blogger also has grim news for the Rangers fans should that happen. In his latest blog, Phil warns, “Failure to get the Champions League means more austerity, more free transfers and more loan deals for the ten year old club next summer.”

And that is on top of the transfer ‘austerity’ that they have faced over the last three windows.

Austerity that has seen Steven Gerrard jump ship and a raft of first team stars finding themselves entering the final year of their contracts.

The future is bright, but it’s not orange.
