Listen to brilliant Celtic fan Clyde 1 caller trolls Sevco with Old F*rm tag

Ibrox Stadium

The Old Firm love in Rangers had at the last Glasgow Derby was just embarrassing.

The overkill on the moniker was a brass neck for the Ibrox clubs fans who have spent the last month or so telling everyone that they don’t want anything to do with us or the Sydney Cup but then had to watch as their club fawned over the OF brand whilst clinging to Celtics coat tails.

And this caller on Clyde 1 took his opportunity to rub it into their fans with this. Have a listen:

It was brilliant opportunism from the fan and a reminder that every time they and their club participate in shameless exploitation of a brand they want nothing to do with, the Celtic fans are watching and listening.

  • “100%” – The mystery of whether Kevin Clancy supports Celtic or Rangers has just been solved

Celtic fans have always looked upon certian referees with an air of suspicion on whether or not they support Rangers.

And they have every reason to. In the case of John Beaton, here is a guy who frequented a Rangers pub directly after he officiated a Glasgow Derby in which Celtic lost.

And former SFA Category 1 referee, Hugh Dallas, has also had his own misdemeanours after being caught out sharing anti-Catholic rhetoric not too long ago and ended up losing his job.

So it is little wonder a distrusting eye is cast over referees in this country. But one riddle has just been solved by Paul John Dykes about SFA official, Kevin Clancy.

Kevin Clancy – Celtic or Rangers

Speaking on his daily bulletin on A Celtic State of Mind, Dykes gave a definitive answer on where Clancy’s football leanings lie when it comes to the two Glasgow clubs.

Dykes said (A Celtic State of Mind), “At some point this season, Kevin Clancy and his family have received death threats. Kevin Clancy and his family recieved death threats.

“This is a part-time job. And the thing as I can assure you Kevin Clancy is not a fan of Rangers or Celtic. He doesn’t support either of the two clubs.

“100% I can guarantee that’s the case. Right? And people go on about it and say well how do you know that?

“I’ve said before, if I’m speaking to people, I’m a sponge to find out information and to find out sources and I can tell you directly that Kevin Clancy is not a Rangers or a Celtic fan.”

So there you have it. At least we know that if Clancy makes a mistake against us it’s not because he is a closet Rangers fan.

It’s because he is inco… I mean made an ‘honest mistake‘.

  • ‘Reeks of contempt’ – What the SFA did this week was a ‘two-finger’ salute to Celtic

The SFA have been accused of many things over the years. In fact, they have also been found out doing things against Celtic that have cost people their jobs.

We all remember the Jim Farry/Jorge Cadete scandal where Farry withheld the Portuguese striker’s registration papers at the SFA so he wasn’t available for a Rangers game.

We also remember the sectarian emails sent by Hugh Dallas that cost him his job with the National Association as well.

So it is little wonder the Celtic fans look at the SFA with a suspicious eye. And it is also the reason why the latest SFA announcement has been roundly criticised by the Celtic supporters.

The decision to appoint Don Robertson as Celtic’s match referee against Livingston was utterly bizarre considering Brendan Rodgers was up for a misconduct charge involving the referee.

We obviously all know the result of that but the SFA’s decision to announce Robertson’s appointment has been vehemently criticised by Paul John Dykes on A Celtic State of Mind.

Arrogant SFA look at Celtic with ‘contempt’

Dykes said (A Celtic State of Mind), “If you’re trying to be balanced about it, you’ve got the arrogance of making that decision as a two-finger to Celtic.

“They’ve got to look at the situation and say how can we protect our staff? How can we protect the refs that have already been under intense scrutiny?

“Even more so since the introduction of VAR. And when you’ve got whatever is going to happen tomorrow [at the SFA hearing], hanging on over Sunday and you’re putting the same ref in, I think it just absolutely reeks of contempt.”

It really was a remarkable decision by someone at the SFA to do this. Either it was stupidity, incompetence or both.

On what planet would anyone think this was a good idea? And when you think about how Rangers got Willie Collum removed from officiating their games for almost a year…

  • The really obvious John Beaton question Celtic fans are asking after Rodgers ban

As Celtic found out the fate of Brendan Rodgers after his SFA hearing this afternoon, questions are being asked about John Beaton as well.

Rodgers received a one game dugout ban for the Livingston game on Sunday and one game suspended which means he is free to take to the Ibrox dugout for the 7th of April Glasgow Derby.

The news was met with joy by the Celtic fans, despair by a certain Hearts supporting journalist and a fantastic Follow Folllow meltdown from our Rangers supporting friends over at Ibrox.

But as the Rodgers result sinks in, the Celtic fans are turning their attention to John Beaton and asking a really obvious question over the VAR man.

John Beaton needs held to account for Celtic mess

John Beaton is trending on X as the Celtic fans demand answers as to why the man who caused this carnage isn’t being held accountable.

If Beaton let Don Robertson referee the game Celtic may not have dropped three points, lost Hyunjun Yang to a two-game ban and had to spend thousands on a lawyer to defend Rodgers from a charge that would never have happened.

But as it is, all these events transpired and Beaton seems to be walking away Scot-free.

And these Celtic fans are seriously unhappy about it:

And there are many more comments like this on social media. The Celtic fans have had enough of the incompetence of the SFA officials and seeing nothing done to remedy it.

The SFA have circled the wagons and they’ll be hoping this dies down quickly.

Unfortunately for them, the Celtic fans won’t forget and they will never forgive.

  • ”When is your report due at the Vatican?” – Fans superb reaction to Celtic lawyer’s Brendan Rodgers victory tweet

As the dust doesn’t even begin to settle on Celtic boss, Brendan Rodgers’, SFA result, the fallout of this will probably last the rest of the week.

Already we have seen Ewan Murray spit the dummy and now Follow Follow have blamed the Pope for Rodgers’ result in a night that sure to be packed with more meltdowns as the hours tick by.

But tonight belongs to Rodgers, Celtic and the super lawyer, Nick De Marco, who managed to stop the Celtic manager get banned from the Ibrox dugout for next months Glasgow Derby.

De Marco has represented Celtic at Hampden before with success and today, took to social media to celebrate his most recent success.

De Marco said on X, “A pleasure, as ever, to represent Celtic FC and Brendan at today’s hearing. I’m looking forward to getting back up to watch a match at Celtic Park soon again.”

Celtic should just give him a free seat for the rest of the season on top of his fee because that result in Mount Florida could be crucial in helping Rodgers defend the title.

And these Celtic fans know it. De Marco took all the plaudits as the Hoops support thanked him for his service and wished home well:

I don’t think even De Marco could get the SFA to open up on the 5-way agreement.

I saw we stay in the league and continue to torment Rangers and the SFA.

But the last word needs to go to this guy for this outstanding response:
