“Pandering to a set of loonies” – Former Sevco stars stunning condemnation of Ibrox CSA & Old F*rm banners

The fallout of the Glasgow Derby victory continues as reality bites the Rangers fans.

With the 2-1 loss to their rivals comes the usual scattergun mentality as the Ibrox fans continue to lose focus on what really matters. The downfall of their team and the clubs financial problems.

And why have they lost focus? Because they have two strange fixations that to many people are weird and sick.

The weird is the obsession with the ‘Old F*rm’ brand and the sick is the constant fixation of child abuse.

And it was called out brilliantly on the PLZ Football Show. Peter Martin was scathing as he said, “I’m not quite sure of what the angle was yesterday from someone, the PR at Rangers, whoever it is that decides, but the whole ‘This is the Old Firm‘ and the banner and the thing coming out of the the front of the tunnel.

I mean, I just I just think that pandering to a set of loonies. It’s as simple as that.

Nobody who goes about their daily life gives two flying hoots about this whole argument over Old Firm.

But they’re all it’s almost as if they’re protesting too much about what has gone on before and are determined to just keep perpetually mentioning this.

Nobody cares and I think they’re pandering to a minority.”

And former Sevco star Richard Foster was unbelievably scathing, “They behave like kids in a playground. You know the whole hoo-ha with the Sydney.

Everybody that spoke about it thought it was a good idea, generates money for the club. It gives some of those directors some money back that they’ve ploughed into the club.

Because let’s be honest, they’ve put in a lot of their own money to keep Rangers afloat. And hell mend them for thinking thinking this is a chance for us to get some money back but that section of the fans, there’s a big outcry about it.

And then all them banners, it’s just, you look at it and kind of cringe, it’s just a bit embarrassing. Like you say, none of the real fans really care. Just let’s go on and play the game.

It’s just, it’s ridiculous, all these banners.

Martin then continued and touched a subject that none in the Scottish media will even mention. The Rangers fans obsession with child abuse, “Some of the banners that were held up at one point in the game as well, Tam. It just leaves, it just leaves us sick taste in your mouth, especially with what’s going on.

And the court cases that, again, are dealing with abuse which I think covers a number of clubs across Scottish football, but I just I just think you know, they have to take a long hard look at themselves.”

Tam McManus said, “Yeah, again it’s points scoring school, you know, and it says rife, particularly on social media. People point scoring about child abuse is just sickening.

You know, anybody with a family or kids it’s horrible to read that stuff.

And as you said, it’s not just one club, there’s a lot of clubs involved and a lot of people are involved. To use that against your opposition players and teams in that manner is just sickening.

They shouldn’t be doing that and and you shouldn’t be doing that at games.”

Foster was scathing in his opinion, “At what point do you think I’m going to make a banner up about child abuse and use it as a point scoring exercise against my other team and fans?

It’s incredible. You cannot even begin to imagine the mindset of these people.”

Very refreshing to see this being addressed by a football show but until it is tackled in the mainstream media, their sickening obsession will continue.
