Yeah this has always kind of weirded me out.
The first time I saw it, it was Gerrard taking part in The Loving Cup ceremony in the Ibrox Blue Room.
A strange wee tradition where grown men all fawn round each other and drink out of a cup to celebrate the very Queen they didn’t want to pay taxes toward.
Even at the time Gerrard did it, he looked visibly uncomfortable and now it was wee Gio’s turn.
And wait till you see the look on his face:
All very odd seeing as the first guy doesn’t even take a drink and wee Gio kidding on he enjoyed it.
What a strange club.
And it was met with some tremendous twitter take downs:

Correct me if I am wrong but is Steven Gerrard not a Catholic?why did he take a drink from the lvng cup was it out of respect or was he told that as a manager of our club you must respect our history 🤔and GIO hasn’t a clue
