“I’ll take me beer back off you then” – Australia manager tells hilarious Celtic fan/Rogic bribe story

I love this.

It just goes to show that only are Celtic fans the funniest on social media, they can be the warmest in real life as well.

And as the World Cup qualifiers approach, Australia manager Graham Arnold told a story of how a Celtic fan in Australia tried to bribe him to not call up Tom Rogic in the wake of the upcoming Glasgow Derby.

Speaking on The Go Radio Football Show, Arnold said, “It’s one of the biggest derbies in the world and here in Australia, there’s so many Scottish people that are always looking for that one game.

I went out one night here in Australia, and when I was sitting, having a beer and a guy come over to me and said, ‘Like, here’s a beer.

And I said, ‘Thanks mate. What’s that for?’

He said, ‘If you don’t pick Tommy Rogic to not play against Rangers‘ he says, ‘I’ll buy you the beer‘.

“And I said, ‘Well Tommy’s coming.’ and he says, ‘Well, I’ll take me beer back off you then.’

That’s how important it is for us here in Australia, the derby.”

A brilliantly warm story told in the spirit it was meant.

Class from that Celtic fan.
