“So he was right then?” – Sevco fans Leigh Griffiths tweet spectacularly backfires

He is one of the biggest enigmas at Celtic Park since Raphael Sheidt.

Leigh Griffiths’ career at Paradise started extremely promisingly.

Signed in 2013, he made 14 appearances, scoring 7 and creating 11. A great return for a January signing.

Undoubtedly, his best season was 15/16 when he scored 40 goals in 51 appearances under Ronny Deila, but even that didn’t stop the incoming boss, Brendan Rodgers, from benching him after telling the press his form the previous season to his arrival didn’t matter to him.

Ever since then, he has failed to capture the form that made him a cult hero amongst the fans, and amid personal issues and off field misdemeanours, Griffiths career quickly spiralled out of control to the point where he was released from his contract by Celtic last night.

A huge fall from grace which many fans believe had been brought on by himself. And it is difficult to argue with that.

But as the news filtered through twitter, a *Rangers fan tried, and failed, to point score by tweeting this:

Not only has the guy admitted his club is dead, the Celtic fans were quick to remind him that the former Celtic striker was correct all along. His club is, in fact, dead:
