The Riley McGree story is a strange one.
Reading through all the material, including this insight from Vital Celtic, it did seem that the deal was dead in the water after the emergence of Middlesbrough’s late night attempt to hijack the deal.
With many reporting that the deal is off it seems that may not be the case after a twitter update from respected transfer journalist Alan Nixon.
Here at Born Celtic, I wanted to try and get the lowdown on what is happening with the deal, so I asked Nixon his thoughts. Here is his reply:
So it seems contrary to belief, the deal is not dead in the water yet.
But here is the dilemma. If McGree’s head has been turned and considering Ange Postecoglou’s mantra has always been about creating a culture and getting players who are committed to the cause, should we end our interest here?
