Move is off but he’s still bookies favourite.

Who would have thought it?

The Ipad has been of some use to Gavin Strachan. The much maligned Celtic coach has been the target of a section of Celtic fans last season as the team slumped and meekly served the league title to their closest rivals Rangers.

Many fans, wrongly, focused on the fact that Strachan was less animated on the touchline and more focused on his analytics device as they sought to pin the blame on someone, anyone for last years capitulation.

But incredibly, Strachan has been tipped for a managerial position in England where his is favourite to land the top job at Hartlepool.

According to The Hartlepool Mail, Strachan is odds on to secure the top role where once plied his trade as a player way back in 2003.

Strachan spent four years at the club and made over 100 appearances and also played for Stockport, Peterborough and Notts County before retiring.

He took up a coaching role at Peterborough not long after and then moved to Doncaster as an Assistant Manager.

He returned to Peterborough in 2018 for a second spell before he landed the first team coach role at Celtic Park in 2020.

He now seems set to become his own man at Hartlepool if the bookies odds are to be believed and the Hoops may be in search for a new first team coach this Christmas.

Although reports surfaced late last night that Strachan is staying, he still remains the favourite with bettingodds.com at 1/4 so we will watch this one with interest.
