“He has to learn” – Alex Rae amazingly digs out Ange and applies January window pressure. Will these guys ever learn?

I wish these pundits would just get it. Because it would stop them looking like idiots and having people like me pointing out how daft they look.

Ange is not changing his style. Ever.

The Celtic gaffer has played the same style of football his whole coaching career and it is is well documented that in every club he has taken over, there is a transitional year in which it takes to get the players used to the style and for it to work.

For me, it seems we are ahead of schedule because, lets face it, no one gave us a hope of challenging for the title or to be in the running for any kind of silverware so to be where we are right not is quite startling.

And added to the fact we went toe to toe with one of the giants in German football and almost pulled off a result when no one gave us an earthly is quite something when you look at what the Celtic boss had to inherit.

But speaking on Clyde 1 Superscoreboard, former Rangers player and now ‘pundit’ Alex Rae, has took a swipe at Ange for his handling of the Europa League tie, “I think January is big for Celtic because the bench is actually quite weak.

You know, you’ve got one or two players who can actually strengthen it and when they come off that on me, I thought it was fairly evident.

I thought Celtic were excellent, offensively, but there’s a weakness in them and when you’re making those changes you’re actually weakening the team.

He has to learn that he has to dig out a result having got in a brilliant position.

So it’s about managing the game throughout that particular time because you can’t play a basketball football against them. You attack, we attack. They’ve got too much quality at that level.

“When Jota was still on I still thought as if they were a real threat in the transition.

By actually make those changes, I think that goes back to big Ange trying to manage the situation because if you continually ask the guys who play 90 minutes time after time, the problem he has at the moment it doesn’t have the strength in depth.

In January this is a massive, massive window to try and get better quality through the door.

For me, I think he has to stick with this style regardless. It has already got us to a major cup final, challenging for the title and European football after Christmas, especially when no one gave us a chance of even getting past AZ Alkmaar all those months ago.

And just imagine what Ange could do when he get’s to add the players that he actually wants! But massive pressure on this transfer window?

Do me a favour. We should be looking at this window with excitement, not trepidation.
