With the Gerrard to Villa link getting stronger by the hour, it seems we will all have an answer sooner rather than later, if the Rangers boss is going to head to the Midlands to save The Villains from relegation.
Speaking on The Go Radio Football Show, Mark Giudi sent a warning to the Rangers fans and it seems they may well need to brace themselves for some bad news this week, “The thing for me about the Newcastle thing. I’m not so sure how much substance and interest in terms of Steven Gerrard with Newcastle.
“Which is by the by now because he’s the still the Rangers manager and they’ve appointed Eddie Howe.
“Aston Villa is real. There’s a relationship there between Christian Purslow, the Chief Executive.
“They want him. They want to go and speak to him and for all we know there can be dialogue going on between both boardrooms because Villa won’t hang about.
“So we will find that out pretty quickly.
“I think we’ll know within 48 hours if he’s going to talk to them or not. They’re not messing about. Villa want to get into the top six.
“They want to push for things. You look at his backroom staff as well.
“Gary McAllister has been the assistant manager of Aston Villa. He was there under Gerrard Houllier.
“I’m not trying to chase him away. I’m not saying that it’s already happened. But it is real.
“The interest from Aston Villa is real and we’ll find out quickly how this is going to develop.”
