“There appears to be one or two things doing the rounds” – Mark Guidi opens up on latest transfer rumours

As Celtic prepare to hit the next international break, now is the time to get some much needed rest to those players who have featured in almost every single game so far this season but won’t be representing their country.

As reinforcements are looking likely to arrive in January, it seems one Celtic player is heading out the door, and for a ridiculously low price at that.

Albian Ajeti was signed by Celtic for £4.5m last summer and has failed offer anything really substantial to the Hoops cause.

And it looks likely he is going to be offloaded for a massive loss as journalist Mark Guidi, revealed on The Go Radio Football Show, “There appears to be one or two things doing the rounds that Ajeti will be allowed to leave in January which I don’t think comes as a surprise to anyone.

It’s just not happened for him. He arrived behind the eight ball in terms of fitness when he was signed 18 months ago.

He scored a couple of goals for Celtic. Wee bits here and there but at four and a half million pounds, he has been a big, big disappointment.

And I don’t know what Celtic will get back for him. Maybe get a million quid or something like that which would be okay but I think they’re just willing to write their losses off and let him go.”

£1m. A paltry return but expected for a player that just doens’t cut it at the highest level. At least at a price that makes a gamble look less risky, I would expect many takers for the Swiss stars signature.
