“We’ll see what happens from there” – Celtic linked international striker opens up on speculation

The transfer speculation around Celtic is rife at the moment and as the January window approaches, it will only intensify as Ange Postecoglou looks to bolster his squad for the title run in.

With the Hoops looking to strengthen in key areas, the striker department is one that many Celtic fans feel that may already be covered. Especially after witnessing the goal scoring start by Greek striker, Giorgos Giakoumakis.

However, there is still intense speculation surrounding Scotland striker, Lyndon Dykes, as he has been tipped for a move to Celtic, but the adopted Scot has said he is focused on his job at QPR but does admit that he has been flattered with the recent links, “It’s always nice seeing people say stuff like that and, obviously, you do see a few things.

“It’s good to see but, obviously, I’m not there yet so that’s something I can’t just look at and think is gonna happen.

“I need to keep doing my thing and, like I said before, I’m loving QPR and the team that we’ve got.

“It’s really good, experienced, with great youth as well so for me, personally, the focus is this season and internationals to keep doing well and push us into the promotion spots.

“We’ll see what happens from there.

It is difficult to see where exactly Dykes would fit into Ange Postecoglou’s playing style if indeed he could at all but as the media speculation intensifies, this is one we will watch with interest.

  1. As you correctly say where does he fit in the side. This is just paper talk and if we’re going to buy another striker they’re not coming to warm the bench. If we did buy another striker though I would rather we bought Kevin Nisbet from Hibs the boy is totally different from Kyogo and G-Mac and has scored at every club he’s played for.
